CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 Result Preparation Process
CBSE has already announced that there will be no board examination for class 10 in 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, now result will be prepared based on performances of students in internal assessment exams like Pre-Board exam, mid-term exam and unit tests. How much weightage would be given to these exams? How CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 result would be prepared? Let us take a quick look.
Result Committee
For the preparation of result, CBSE has asked every school to constitute a Result Committee consisting of principal and 7 teachers. Out of 7 teachers, 5 will be from school itself (subject teacher of Mathematics, Science, Social Science and two language papers) while 2 teachers will be from any neighbouring schools.
CBSE has asked each school to prepare Class 10 board exam result with full transparency, flexibility and professionalism. Unbiased, flexible and transparent attitude of schools are basic requirements to make sure that the students and parents feel confident about the procedures involved in the preparation of result. CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 Result Preparation Process
As per the existing rules, out of 100 marks, 20 marks are for internal assessment and 80 marks are for Year-end Board Examinations. After the cancellation of board exam, assessment of 80 marks will also be done by school now; based on performance in tests and exams conducted by the school during the year.
Following exams/tests are common and they will be used for school-based assessment. Weightage assigned to different exams/tests for the preparation of result have been given below:

2) Half Yearly/Mid-Term Examinations 30 Marks
3) Pre-Board Examinations 40 Marks
TOTAL 80 Marks

Grace Marks by CBSE
After the upload of theory and internal assessment marks, board will compute the result. During this computation, if a candidate is not getting qualifying marks, CBSE will follow its policy of awarding grace marks.
Will CBSE Fail Class 10 Students in 2021?
You must be aware of the fact that CBSE has said goodbye to the dreaded term “Fail” in Class 10. Instead, they prefer to use “Essential Repeat” or “Compartment” Category.
If a student fails to cross the passing line i.e., he does not get pass marks in any subject, even after the following of grace marks policy by the board, he will be placed in “Essential Repeat” or “Compartment” Category.
CBSE Class 10 Compartment Examination 2021
According to the guideline released by CBSE, after the declaration of result, objective type online or offline Compartment Examination will be conducted by school based on Sample Question Papers provided by the board.
In case, a student is not able to clear board exam, he is allowed to continue in Class 11 till the declaration of compartment examination result by CBSE.
Meanwhile CBSE has also allowed Basic Maths students to opt for Mathematics in Class 11 without appearing in compartment examination. But this provision is only for this year.
