How to Change Basic Math to Standard Math in CBSE Class 10 Board Exam?

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started offering students of Class 10, two version of Mathematics- Basic Math and Standard Math. Board has justified its new step by saying that it will relieve students who are weak in Mathematics and don't want to study it in higher classes. Generally, students who opt for Biology for Medical stream or opt for Arts Stream, don't take Math in Class 11.

Difference between Basic Math and Standard Math


Students who opt for Basic Math are ineligible to study Mathematics in higher classes while students with Standard Math can study this subject in higher classes. Questions asked in Basic Math are much simpler as compared to that of Standard Math. Entire questions in Basic Math can be attempted if a student gives proper attention to NCERT. While, questions in Standard Math require Higher Order Thinking Skills.

How to Change Basic Math to Standard Math in CBSE Class 10 Board Exam?


If a student has passed CBSE Class 10 Board Exam with Basic Math and wants to change it to Standard Math; after declaration of result, he is allowed to so by fulfilling one condition.

                                      



For switching Basic Math to Standard Math, a student need to pass Standard Math in Compartment Examination conducted by CBSE. After passing in Standard Math in Compartment Examination, students become eligible to study Mathematics in higher classes.

How to Switch from Standard Math to Basic Math?


If a student has failed in Standard Math in CBSE Class 10 Board Exam, he has the option to appear in Compartment Examination either in Basic Math or Standard Math. By choosing to appear in Basic Math, his Standard Math will be switched to the former.

      There will be no such exam this year. Schools have been empowered to allot Maths in Class 11 to Basic Maths students. Decision of school will be final

    i have to change from standard to basic in class 10 boards 2021.. can i take the compartment exam even after i pass in standard but not satisfied?

      No, after passing you cannot do that. If you fail, you can opt for Basic in compartment

    I have to change from basic to standard maths. Should I need to attempt compartment exam even in basic maths I get 90 above marks... If yes then what will be the syllabus for compartment exam .. It will be full course ur only second term portion plz reply and which marks will finally given in my 10 th marksheet.. Principal has power to promote student with basic maths to... Take maths as a subject in class 11 th..
