Students can access these digitized study materials from eGyankosh, the digital repository of the university. In order to encourage use of digital study material, university is also offering to refund 15% of programme fee to students opting for it instead of printed study material.
“The University encourages the use of digital study material. It has been decided that as an incentive, 15% of programme fee shall be refunded to the students who opt for digital study material in place of printed study material”, IGNOU announced in the recent press release.
Interestingly, currently this newly announced scheme is available for only those students who have taken admission in July 2018 session. Earlier students needed to wait for the delivery of physical study material to them from the Regional Centre. This process used to take two to three months depending on location. As a result, students used to get less time to go through the syllabus and to prepare assignments. Digitization of study material will help students tremendously. Now they can easily access them from their smartphones.
