NEET 2017: CBSE lifts NEET Attempts limit for this year

News that tens and thousands of medical aspirants all across the country were waiting to listen is finally out. NEET attempts limit that CBSE had induced earlier has now been lifted for this year. CBSE has released notification regarding the same on the official website of NEET i.e. www.cbseneet.nic.in. The notification has been released after clarification from Medical Council of India.

According to the latest notification of CBSE, NEET 2017 will be counted as the first attempt for all candidates. It means all candidates who had appeared in NEET/AIPMT earlier for three or more times, will have three more chances to fulfill their dream of becoming doctor. And now they are eligible to apply for NEET 2017. The Age limit and other eligibility criteria will remain the same as per the information bulletin.

The attempts limit has not been removed completely. Now all attempts will be counted from this year. Candidates who could not fill the online application form of NEET due to three attempts limit can now submit their application form till 1st March 2017. CBSE has already made changes regarding it in the online application form of NEET.

Earlier, students who had appeared in NEET/AIPMT for three or more times were made ineligible for NEET 2017. This decision came as a surprise for tens of thousands of medical aspirants, as they were preparing for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for months. There were many students who did not join medical colleges last year in order to improve their rank this year and secure admission in better Medical Colleges. After the latest decision of CBSE, all those candidates must be relieved.
