NEET 2019: Application Form, Exam Pattern, CUT-OFF and Eligibility
NTA will conduct NEET 2019
that will serve as the common entrance exam for admission into various medical
and dental colleges of the country. Except AIIMS and JIPMER, neither states nor
private colleges are now allowed to conduct their own medical entrance exams. According to the verdict of Supreme Court of India in 2016, all MBBS
and BDS seats will now be filled through NEET.
NEET 2019 Application Form
NTA has released the application form of NEET 2019 on its official website www.ntaneet.nic.in. Candidates can apply for the exam till 30 November 2018 through online mode only. (READ: How to Fill Application Form of NEET 2019?)
NEET 2019 Exam Pattern
NEET 2019 will be conducted by NTA on 5 May 2019
and it will be a one-stage medical entrance exam. Syllabus of this exam is same
as that of last year. NTA has not proposed any major change in the exam pattern for this year. For more details about the syllabus, one can take help of the
Information Bulletin.
A. Eligibility for appearing in NEET and All India Quota Seats
A candidate needs to fulfill conditions
given below for becoming eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.
a) Age of the candidate must be between
17 to 25 years. Five years would be relaxed for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
b) A general category candidate must
have passed Class 12 board or equivalent exam with 50 percent marks in Physics,
Chemistry and Biology.
B. NEET 2019 Question Pattern
a) Like Earlier, NEET 2019 question
paper will carry 180 questions.
b) 90 questions will be asked from
Biology and 45 questions from Physics and Chemistry each.
c) Each question will carry 4 marks.
d) One mark will be deducted for
each incorrect answer.
e) Duration of this exam will be of
3 hours.
C. Qualifying Marks
In order to qualify in NEET, a general
category candidate must secure 50 percentile. SC and ST
candidates need to get 40 percentile while OBC candidates must secure 45
percentile to qualify in the exam.
Just qualifying in NEET does not
guarantee you a call for counselling and an MBBS or BDS seat in any medical
colleges of the country. You must also secure cut-off score and higher rank to
increase your chances of selection.
D. CUT-OFF Mark of NEET 2019 for Counselling
Cut-off mark of NEET varies every year depending on performance of candidates. Only after securing cut-off marks, a candidate becomes eligible for counseling. NEET 2019 cut-off will be updated here after the publication of result.

E. Admission Process
a) Based on performance in NEET, NTA will provide All India Rank to each candidate. Based on All India Rank, Merit List will be prepared by respective counselling authorities.
b) 15 percent of medical seats in
different medical colleges will be filled through NEET All India Quota Rank.
Remaining 85 percent seats in state medical colleges will be filled by
respective states based on NEET State Quota Rank.
c) Admission in all private medical
colleges will take place based on Merit List of NEET.
d) A candidate must fulfill
eligibility conditions of state for claiming seats under State Quota.
e) All reservation criteria in NEET
will be same as earlier.
My daughter studied in Bangalore till class10.She joined a school in Kerala for class11.Does she have to write Neet in Bangalore to get her ranklist in Karnataka state quota list?
ReplyDeleteFor claiming MBBS or BDS seats under state quota, she must possess the domicile of the respective state or fulfill the eligibility criteria of the concerned state.
DeleteIf your daughter has the domicile of Karnataka, she can claim seats under the state quota based on NEET Rank.
