New Exam Pattern of CAT 2015
CAT (Common Admission Test) is a very important examination for all those youngsters aspiring to make career in the field of Management. It opens the door for courses like PG Programmes in Management, Fellow Programmes in Management etc in the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Through this examination, candidates can take admission into 19 IIMs of the country. In addition to it, students can also enter into other Management colleges offering Management courses by appearing in CAT.
CAT 2015 will be conducted on 29 November 2015. Every year, only one IIM conducts this exam throughout the country. From last two years, IIM Indore was conducting it. In 2015, IIM Ahmedabad will conduct CAT. This time CAT will be conducted with several changes in the exam pattern. These significant changes have been made after a gap of 6 years. New Changes in Exam Pattern of CAT
CAT has always been known for the new changes in its exam pattern, which is introduced periodically. It is also considered as one of the toughest competitive exams in the country. In 2009, for the first time in the country, a graduate level examination was conducted completely online. It was the CAT Exam. This exam is conducted online from 2009 onwards. CAT 2015 will be conducted with several changes that have been listed below.
1) CAT 2015 will be conducted in one day in two sessions. From 2009 to 2014, this exam was conducted in many days.
2) Unlike previous year, CAT 2015 will be conducted at 650 Test centres in 136 cities of the country. Candidates can opt for 4 venues in the application form.
3) Registration fee can only be paid through online mode using either Net Banking or Credit/Debit Cards.
4) Duration of CAT Exam has been increased from 170 to 180 minutes.
5) Unlike previous CAT Exams, now each section will contain some questions which will not be of objective type.
6) Without solving one section, one cannot proceed to other section.
7) Students are allowed to use on - screen Calculator.
The Online Registration for CAT has begun from 6 August. The last date of online registration of CAT 2015 is 20 September. Students appearing in the final year of graduation can also apply for CAT, provided they submit certificates of passing graduation before 30 June 2016. Candidates must secure 50 percent marks in graduation to become eligible for appearing in this exam. For more details, read the prospectus of CAT 2015.
