New Pattern of Online Computer Based Test for AIIMS MBBS 2015



AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) has made significant changes in the pattern of its entrance examination for the MBBS course. The entrance exam for the AIIMS (New Delhi) and its six other branches (Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh) for the session 2015 will be conducted online through Computer Based Test (CBT). It will be for the first time in India that any Medical Entrance Exam will be conducted online.
Indian PM Narendra Modi has already proposed his vision for “Digital India” and this latest move of AIIMS seems to follow his vision.




Candidates can take Mock Test from the official website of AIIMS i.e. www.aiimsexams.org to familiarize themselves with the new pattern of online Computer Based Test (CBT) for AIIMS MBBS 2015. The online examination of AIIMS MBBS 2015 will be conducted on 1st June in two shifts in selected cities of almost every state of the country. Candidates should be well prepared to appear in either shifts of online examination.


According to the prospectus of AIIMS-MBBS 2015, the medical entrance exam will be conducted only through online mode in two shifts (9 AM to 12.30 PM & 3 PM to 6.30 PM) in 154 cities of India. The duration of the entrance exam will be three and half hours. 60 Questions will be asked from Biology (Botany and Zoology), Chemistry and Physics each while 20 Questions will be from General Knowledge. Interestingly, there is no change in the Question Paper pattern of AIIMS.


For each correct response, 1-score will be awarded while for each wrong response, one-third score will be deducted. The obtained score i.e. Raw Score will be used in calculating Percentage score and Percentile. As examination will be conducted in two shifts, normalization procedure will also be adopted while preparing the final Merit List.
