How to Prepare for AIPMT?

AIPMT (All India Pre Medical/ Dental Test) is a medical entrance examination through which 15 percent of the total MBBS or BDS seats in different Medical or Dental Colleges of India are filled. Undoubtedly, it is one of the toughest entrance exams of the country. But don’t think that you cannot crack AIPMT. This entrance exam is tougher, because the numbers of available seat are very less as compared to candidates appearing in the exam. Last year, more than 5 lakh candidates appeared in the exam. How many of them successfully took admission in a Medical College?

Even if you qualify in AIPMT, it does not guarantee you a confirm seat in any Medical College. If you fail to get good rank in the medical entrance exam, you will not be called for counselling. Hence, if you want to crack AIPMT this time then you must prepare well so that you can get good rank. Now a question arises, how to prepare for AIPMT? Some valuable tips for the better preparation of AIPMT have been mentioned below.

In AIPMT, objective questions are asked from Biology, Physics and Chemistry. 90 questions are from Biology while 45 questions are asked from Chemistry and Physics each. Each question will award you 4 marks. You need to answer 180 objective questions in AIPMT in 3 hours. There is a provision of negative marking for each incorrect answer. Hence, never try to shoot arrow in the dark. If you are not sure, avoid attempting any question.

For securing good rank in AIPMT, you must prepare all three subjects very well. It is not that easy. It requires lots of hard work. Many students face difficulty in Physics. Even if you are good in Biology and Chemistry, you cannot get rank in AIPMT without better marks in Physics. Hence, never ignore any subject. Instead of running away from Physics, try to face the challenges boldly. Solve at least 10 numerical problems in Physics daily. If you really want to crack AIPMT, give each subject equal importance. 

“NCERT” is the holy book for AIPMT. Go through it thoroughly. More than 90 percent of questions asked in AIPMT are usually from NCERT. Each and every line of this book must be thoroughly learned by you. If you succeed in doing it, you will crack AIPMT. But, it you will ignore this book, you will never crack AIPMT. For Biology, you should prepare only from NCERT and try to mug up each and every line of this book. 

NCERT book is more than enough for the preparation of inorganic and organic chemistry. Try to solve objective questions and problems daily for better command over physics and physical chemistry. AIPMT 2015 will be conducted on 3^rd May. Try to cover entire syllabus by the end of March. And then concentrate on revising. Try to solve AIPMT based sample papers each week, to improve your question solving speed.
