How to Take Admission in Delhi University?
After the declaration
of class 12 board exam results students have started planning for higher
studies. There are tens and thousands of students who wish to take admission in
the Delhi University (DU). It is the first choice for the students of many
states. Admission process in Delhi University is starting from 2nd
June 2014. There have been some changes in the admission process of DU this
time. Let us see how you can apply for the different courses of Delhi
University this time.
The admission process
for the different UG courses of DU for the session 2014-2015 is starting from
June 2, 2014. Students who have passed their class 12 board exam and now aspire
to take admission in the Delhi University can get registration form from
different registration centers till 16th June. There are 77 colleges which come
under the Delhi University. For general category these colleges generally
release 5 cut-off lists. This number can increase this year depending upon the
availability of seats. The first cut-off list will come on 24th June
and with this the admission process will begin.
After the publication
of the first cut-off list by the Delhi University, students can report in
preferred colleges within fixed span of time. Candidates can apply for the UG
course through offline as well as online mode. Due to centralized admission
process, forms will not be sold by any college individually. However students
coming under sports or extra-curricular activities quota can apply in any
college directly. No entrance examination will be conducted for the
Non-professional courses like English and admission process will be carried out
based on the cut-off marks.
Changes
in the DU Admission Process
There have been lots of
changes made in the admission process of UG courses for the session 2014-2015
as compared to that of last year. For the 54,000 seats in the Delhi University
approx 3 lakh students will apply this year. Based on the cut-off marks
students can take admission in any college coming under DU. There have been
some changes made by the DU in the centralized form. Earlier there used to be a
list of colleges in the form while this time form has been designed based on
different courses. Hence now students are not bound to take admission in one or
the other college. Based on the cut-off marks students can now take admission
in their preferred colleges. Earlier students could only apply for two to three
colleges. And when the cut-off marks of these colleges used to go higher then
used to face problems. Now students need not to apply in any particular college
and hence taking admission in the preferred college has become lots easier.
