CBSE will Conduct Medical Entrance Exam in 2014
Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) will
conduct Medical entrance exam in 2014. In a latest press release CBSE has
cleared it that the board will conduct undergraduate MBBS or BDS entrance examination
in 2014. CBSE will conduct Medical entrance exam on 4th May 2014
for taking admission into various undergraduate MBBS or BDS Medical colleges of
India under 15% All India Quota seats.
Few months back Supreme
Court of India had dismissed NEET
(National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) which was proposed by central
government of India and Medical council
of India (MCI). NEET was conducted by CBSE for the first time this year.
But after the historic verdict of the top court of India, the single Medical
entrance exam cannot be conducted from the next year onwards. Though Indian
government has filed a review petition in the court but the decision on this
petition is still pending.
Unlike AIPMT and Mains, CBSE will conduct
single Medical entrance exam from 2014. In this exam 180 Objective questions
will be asked. The question paper
will consists of 45 questions from Physics,
45 questions from Chemistry and
45-45 questions from Botany and Zoology
each. The Syllabus of the exam can be downloaded from the official website of
MCI. States are free to conduct their own Medical entrance exam from the next
year. Same rule applies to different Private
Medical colleges of India. But Indian government still believes that the
Supreme Court will show green light to NEET. Final format of Medical entrance exam
will be decided after the decision of the court on the review petition.
